Sri Lanka's economy is dominated by agriculture and it is one of the world's top three tea-producing countries.Its biggest advantage lies in mining industry and geographical location, known as "gem island".Sri Lanka is a founding member of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation and a member of the Commonwealth, the G77, the Non-Aligned Movement and the United Nations.It is also the only South Asian country currently rated "high" on the HUMAN Development Index.
